Kathleen James-Chakraborty – UCD Retired Staff Association Autumn Lecture, University College Dublin.

This was an informal talk interleafing the distinguished track record of UCD-trained women in designing some of the world’s most notable recent academic buildings, what I have learned through my research into House Beautiful, especially in the years that it was edited by Ethel Power, and my own extended family’s history of design choices.  The aim was to draw attention to the relationship between the research process and personal experience, as well as highlight the institutional setting of UCD.
